Veggie Kitchen: Vegetarian Cookery Classes

Vegetarian cooking classes at The Veggie Kitchen offer a wide variety of classes to suit all. If you are a vegetarian, who wants to experience and learn the art of cooking vegetarian meals in your own veggie kitchen, then these classes are a must for you. Our aim is to teach you to cook home-style food that you can prepare easily and repeatedly to make the most out of your veggie kitchen cookery course.

In these step-by-step classes you'll learn a variety of recipes using popular, exotic and fresh ingredients. These exciting classes will take you on a culinary journey around the world including Indian (North and South), Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Italian, Lebanese & many more. Classes can also compromise of Baking, Soups, Salads, Dips, Starters, etc.

All classes include the following:

  • Printed copies of recipes with clear instructions and ingredients
  • Recipe folder
  • Ingredients and a portion of meals prepared for you to take home (please provide own containers)

Group Course (8 week Course)

There three types of group course; Beginners, Intermediate & Advance. Below are details and prices for each course.

All classes run weekly and you'll be able learn over 30 recipes during the course. Go to Current Courses to see menus of our 3 most popular courses. A copy of recipes and folder will be for you to take home.

The teacher will demonstrate how to cook different recipes in front of you in a friendly and sociable atmosphere of up to 8-10 people. There will be opportunities for students to get hands on experience in some of the classes. At the end of the class you can either eat the meal prepared during the class or take it home with you (please provide your own containers).

Prices:

Beginners (8 week course) £160 for 8 classes (that's only £20 per class!)
Intermediate (8 week course) £160 for 8 classes (that's only £20 per class!) 
Advance (8 week course) £160 for 8 classes (that's only £20 per class!)


 

One-to-One Hands On Class

This is a completely hands on personal cooking experience lasting up to 4 hours learning 4-5 recipes. The teacher will guide you on how to prepare and make the food. You'll be able to take home the copies of all the recipes and the dishes prepared by yourself. Please go to Current Courses to select the recipes you wish to learn.

Prices:

£110 per class per person
£160 per class for two people
A spice tin inclusive of 7 different spices (50g each) can be purchased for £10.
 
Pre-University Student Three day Cooking Course

Probably for many of you it maybe the first time stepping into a kitchen and having to prepare a decent meal. Of course eating junk food and take-aways maybe the easy option and most appealing when you first start university, but soon you will realise it is expensive and perhaps not very nutritional. Further it will only be a matter of time you start missing mum’s home-made food!

I have compiled a selection of vegetarian recipes that use minimum ingredients at minimum cost and can be prepared in less than half an hour.

After three days at The Veggie Kitchen I hope for you to:

  • Achieve confidence in preparing a meal in the kitchen
  • Eat healthier and better food
  • Save money by cooking
  • Realise that cooking can be fun and bring out the creativeness in you

The course includes:

  • Recipes with precise ingredient measurements and clear instructions 
  • Hand outs of useful tips and check-lists before you head off to university 
  • Recipe folder 
  • Ingredients
  • A portion of food for you to eat during the class or take home (please provide own containers) 

Childrens School Holidays Five Day Course

For boys and girls in 6-10 years age group and 11-15 years age group depending on ability and interest. It is really important that children benefit from home-cooking, learn the nutrition value of food and learn to identify which food groups the ingredients belong to. Children will be involved in preparation and cooking of the food. They are able to take a sample of the cooked food home and recipes will be provided (please bring containers).
